The Olive pinafore from Tilly and the Buttons Make it Simple Book (the pink one)

Note – I received this book as an extra thank you as part of paid work modelling in the book.

This is the second version of the pattern I have made, I love the pattern so much I made this one straight afterwards. I had this jumbo cord from New Craft House, its deadstock and the most beautiful quality … I loved it so much I may of also purchased some in navy blue for some dungarees.

The pattern has a facing that covers the neck line, front plackets back and sleeves, it makes the insides super neat and pretty. For this pink one I found this vintage inspired floral cotton that was perfect for it.

I used the silver anorak snaps from prym again, they just look and hold so good.

Again this version has the bust dart I added which works so better for my shape, I have raised in 1′ on this version and I fell like it sits at a better point on my bust.

Also for the poppers down the front I’ve added an extra so theres 8 instead of 7. I used my button hole gauge for this and its super easy. The gauge is one of my favourite sewing tools and is perfect for this.

This pattern totally needs a scallop hack and I think that will be my next version …

How would you hack this pattern?

Thanks for reading and happy sewing,

Samantha x
